About Emporia Myofascial Care
Emporia's Top Choice for Myofascial Release Therapy

For the past 17+ years, I have had the honor of working at Holiday Resort as their Occupational Therapist and Director of Therapy.  Over those years I have obtained several certifications.   First, was becoming a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2007.  Next was becoming a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner in 2010.  Starting in 2014 and completing in 2018 was becoming an Expert Level Myofascial Release Therapist in the John Barnes Approach.  Most recently, in 2022, I completed the coursework to become a Certified Oncology Rehabilitation Specialist.  Over those years, I have had the pleasure of working with thousands of outpatients across the lifespan helping them to achieve their goals.
Thanks to Emporia Main Street and the ESU Small Business Center, I was able to take their Start Your Own Business class and begin to realize that I have the ability to start my own outpatient clinic.  As I was going through this process, I was asked by Dr. Amanda Ruxton if I was interested in joining her new clinic called Strive Wellness Group.  This was an opportunity that I could not pass up and I have joined their group under my own business name of Emporia Myofascial Care.

I am providing outpatient Occupational Therapy services including:

  • Myofascial Release
  • Lymphedema Management
  • Cancer Rehabilitation
  • Fibromyalgia Management
  • Female/Male Pelvic Health
  • Reiki

I am still offering traditional therapy services for orthopedic injuries, neurologic deficits, and acute/chronic pain management for all age groups.

All services are provided one-on-one in a private treatment room to truly focus on a collaborative treatment environment.  If you feel this can benefit you, please contact me with any questions or have your physician fax outpatient therapy orders to the info listed on the contact page.  Thank you and I look forward to helping you!  - Mark De Jesus

Helping Clients return to activities they enjoy

Since graduating from Washburn University in May of 2023, I have had the honor of working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, beginning my career in a skilled nursing facility. During those two years, I gained valuable experience helping residents improve their independence, mobility, and overall quality of life through therapeutic interventions and personalized care.
In 2025, I transitioned into Myofascial Release using the John Barnes Approach. This method has allowed me to provide more specialized, hands-on care to individuals dealing with chronic pain, restricted mobility, and soft tissue dysfunction. I am passionate about helping clients restore balance in their bodies and return to the activities they love.
I am currently providing services including:
  • Myofascial Release (John Barnes Approach)
  • Therapeutic Exercise and Activity
  • Pain Management
  • Upper Extremity Strengthening and Coordination
